TRIP
TO MAINE PHOTOS
(Return to
Summer Camp Page)
Troop 641 saw the US
Capitol from the outside as we walked to Representative
John Mica's
office and again when we walked to Senator Bill Nelson's office.
John Mica explains to the Scouts the importance of the Declaration of
Independence,
our Constitution and about our form of government.
To show our appreciation for Representative Mica's time and attention,
we presented him with one of our brand new Troop T-Shirts.

Here we are as we go back to Union Station to catch the
Metro (Subway/Train)
back to Greenbelt near our camp site

Saturday night we stayed at Camp Sayre, a Boy Scout camp
outside of Boston. Here you can see how much these
Floridians really enjoyed BIG rocks!!
Justin and his Dad
joined us as when we left the Boston area on our final segment to camp
in Maine.

Sunday, we arrived
at Camp Roosevelt. As Ed and Randy handled
the check
in,
the boys went to check out the
swimming
and water sports area.

Here's the path we
hiked to get to Maple Flats, our campsite, otherwise known as our "home
away from home".
Here's the view looking back toward camp central from the first part
of the hike

up the trail we go...

Sunday evening the
camp staff conducted an entertaining evening campfire at this beautiful
pond-side site, don't you agree?
Here we are at breakfast Monday morning waiting for
the "waiters" to be instructed to get the food and bring it
to our table.
This moring
our waiters were Justin and
David and they did a great job.

Now the boys are all
in their Merit Badge classes and the leaders are
helping out as I sit here updating this web site and
fighting off
the
mosquitos. At least there the mosquitos go
away during the day. They seem to like this cool quiet room with a modem phone line (just like Mike).

Aaron and Seth paddle their canoe
past Lerch and Louiso n their sail boat.
No, we did not punch Lerch in the face, an insect
bite caused this swelling. A couple Benadryl tablets cured him quickly.

And the fun continued....
